Lawless neighbor Marcus leads raiders to loot supplies and covets a virus sample hard drive Jack took from a dead scientist. During their journey, the zombie Derek clears danger with his undead physique while strictly keeping their expense records. They rescue a sharp-tongued nurse and a blood-phobic military doctor, forming an absurd survival team. Chased relentlessly by Marcus, they escape repeated dangers through bizarre luck and teamwork. Upon reaching the safe zone, the military intends to execute the infected Derek, while Marcus ambushes them from behind, trapping the team between soldiers and ravenous zombies. For the first time, Jack chooses to stand up for others. He proves Derek holds the key to a cure with the drive’s data and lures Marcus into a zombie horde, wiping out the raiders.
