Deadbeat delivery man Jack owes his roommate Derek three months’ rent and hides from debt by playing games. One day, Derek turns into a zombie yet retains partial consciousness, clearly remembering every penny Jack owes him. As a deadly virus ravages the city, Jack must travel through the fallen city with his semi-intelligent zombie roommate to reach the military safe zone. Lawless neighbor Marcus leads raiders to loot supplies and covets a virus sample hard drive Jack took from a dead scientist. During their journey, the zombie Derek clears danger with his undead physique while strictly keeping their expense records. They rescue a sharp-tongued nurse and a blood-phobic military doctor, forming an absurd survival team. Chased relentlessly by Marcus, they escape repeated dangers through bizarre luck and teamwork. Upon reaching the safe zone, the military intends to execute the infected Derek, while Marcus ambushes them from behind, trapping the team between soldiers and ravenous zombies. For the first time, Jack chooses to stand up for others. He proves Derek holds the key to a cure with the drive’s data and lures Marcus into a zombie horde, wiping out the raiders. The military accepts Derek, and Jack becomes a hero. He pays off his debt with the reward money, only for Derek to mutter that interest is still owed. In the safe zone, the odd pair opens a delivery shop—and surprisingly, it thrives.
